This role is crucial in managing the Geology Division, including its manpower, technical & administrative undertakings, and cooperation with other departments. To report to the Manager of Operations / KTT and the Board of Directors. To work in a professional manner that reflects good mining practice

Geology Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Geology team. Build up the skill, competence and confidence within the team.
• Prepare and submit reports to management, as may be requested by management or as initiated by you or your team. Prepare, implement and realization of work programs and budgets for the Geology Division.
• Support various reports to the Mines Department, and other government agencies.
• Manage and direct the geological operations, including exploration, mining, geotechnical & hydrogeological activities. Work positively with other departments, and contractors, including surveying, mining, assay, ESG, land compensation, purchasing, budget etc.
• Ensure the quality & security of data collected is suitable for resource / reserve estimates to at least KCMI / SNI standards and is suitable to support mine planning & operations.
• Assist in preparing, and monitor external contracts, and others, for supportive activities, including but not limited to drilling, geophysical logging, assay, geotechnical testing, hydrology activities.
• Support operational safety in the division to ensure operational activities run in accordance with MGM safety procedures.
• Support the integrated management system based on SMKP Minerba, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for the sustainability of MGM operations as a whole in accordance with quality, environmental and Occupational Health and Safety targets.
• Support the company's confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Geology or related science.
• Minimum 10 years experience in a similar coal geological field with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial position.
• Qualified to report to Mines Department.
• Member of an appropriate Indonesian professional association.
• Knowledgeable of the broad aspects of coal geology, mining and related sciences (geotechnical, hydrology etc).
• Knowledgeable of appropriate software, including geostatistics, quality assurance & controls.
• Suitable geological modeling competency.
• Experienced in managing contractors used for geological works (drill, log, assay etc).
• Basic knowledge of rules and regulations that govern or impact on the coal mining industry.
• Must be self confident, honest and trustworthy. Maintain professional confidentiality. Continue to grow professionally.
• Must be able to communicate well with directors / management, peers and staff.
• Able to communicate in English
